Final mock Code
The four problems linked from Meta's own prep guide · 45 minutes · blank editor · log honestly
These are the examples Meta's guide points candidates at. They are not a promise of what you'll be asked. Their value is as a realistic timed rehearsal, so do not open them early and do not look at hints first. Open the mock only when the coding topics (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20) are done.
How to run it
- Pick two of the four problems (a real screen is roughly 30-35 minutes of coding after a short intro, so two problems is realistic).
- Start a 45-minute timer. Use a blank editor with no autocomplete, no browser tabs other than the problem statement.
- For each problem, out loud: restate the task, ask two clarifying questions and answer them yourself, name the data structure and the complexity before coding, write it, dry-run two edge cases, state final time and space.
- Only then run the LeetCode tests. Log the outcome below: independent means working code with no hints and no peeking.
- Do the other two problems in a second session on another day.
The problems
Hidden until you unlock them.
(this also makes them visible in the tracker)
Scoring yourself (the guide's criteria)
| Criterion | Pass looks like |
|---|---|
| Structure | Clarified first, named an approach, coded in small functions, tested before declaring done |
| Language familiarity | No stalls on syntax; placeholders for forgotten names, fixed later |
| Bugs / correctness | Edge cases (empty input, duplicates, malformed lines) handled or explicitly scoped out with the interviewer |
| Efficiency | Stated time and space with the right variables; knew the next optimisation when asked |
| Communication | Said why for each decision; took hints; changed course without sulking |
Network mock (do the same day or the next)
Run the network interview script for 45 minutes: 5 minutes of background, 10 minutes of "what happens when you load a page", 15 minutes of your deepest protocol (BGP), 10 minutes of a troubleshooting scenario from topic 19, 5 minutes of your questions. Record yourself or have a friend read the follow-ups from the review sheet.
